Song of the Day # 115 Adele- Hometown Glory
I’ve heard of Adele before but never truly explored her music. Her voice reminds me very much like Amy Winehouse, but it’s still very different. Adele is much more innocent and less overbearing. Adele is a very creative musician and she recently has exploded onto the music scene with multiple Grammy’s. I like the rhythms she uses in her music. She really flows with the words and doesnt throw them in your face.
The piano in this piece reminds me a little bit of Philip Glass and Yann Tiersen. Its very minimalist and simple. It actually has a very similar sound to Comptine d’un autre été: l’après midi by Yann Tiersen. Interesting….hmm…
