Song of the Day # 82: Camille Saint-Saens - The Swan / Le Cynge (Played by Anderson & Roe)
This is one of my all time favorite Classical songs. The melody is so resonant that once you hear it, you cant get it out of your head. And its a song that can be infused with so much passion when played correctly. I’ve seen and heard many versions of this song but I chose this one because I like the work that Anderson & Roe do. They really try to re-imagine classical works into something new. If you get a chance to listen to this, you can hear an interesting thing being done with counterpoint in which both pianist overlap each other in interesting ways. This version has a dreamy, Debussy quality to it. Enjoy!
